In order to assist our research volunteer with your quote, we ask that your research request be as focused as possible. A specific research goal contributes to the potential of a more successful outcome for your project. Typical well-defined research goals will involve who, what, where, or when questions. Following are examples of research questions.

I want to know more about my Smith family in the Rogue Valley (too broad)
When did John Smith, my paternal grandfather born in 1852 in Missouri, move to the Rogue Valley? (focused)
